derestricted CDIs – why?
Most scooter models are equipped with a speed limit of normally 8,000 rpm as standard, this CDI removes these restrictions.
We have carried out several test runs with a Stage6 Racing cylinder plus CDI on our test bench and were able to determine a performance increase of a whopping 180%.
The use of this CDI is recommended when upgrading to a more powerful cylinder or if you are tuning your scooter with a performance exhaust. These exhausts usually support a fairly high rev range, and a derestricted engine is of course a prerequisite for this.
