Stage6 Streetrace 86 / 88 cast iron cylinder
Cylinder kit 86 / 88cc Stage6 Streetrace cast iron Minarelli AM6, the popular cast iron cylinder from Stage6.
Details Stage6 Streetrace cylinder for AM6
In addition to traditional scooter tuning, Stage6 is mostly know for their high-quality tuning parts for modern scooters with CVT but a while ago decided to branch out into making parts for mopeds with gearbox (Supermotard etc.). First they launched a 50cc line, now they added two kits with 77cc and 88cc, since we all know: There is no replacement for displacement!
The kit includes:
- 88cc cast iron cylinder, bore = 50mm, 5 transfer ports and simple exhaust (28mm)
- 2-ring piston, 50mm
- one-piece high-compression cylinder head, aluminium
- gasket set (cylinder head / base) and installation material
The cylinder performance is pretty impressive on all counts – take-off and acceleration are great and due to increased displacement top speed and the overall output are much improved. The cast iron cylinder is extremely reliable and durable, so it is definitely suitable for intensive use.
And as always, when it comes to performance parts, you should adapt the entire setup; we recommend a PWK carburetor, a Vforce3 reed valve; a racing exhaust such as the Stage6 Streetrace low mount exhaust; a reinforced clutch and possibly even an internal rotor ignition such as the MVT Digital Direct.
Stage6 Streetrace – 86cc or 88cc
- Crankshaft with 44mm stroke / 85mm connecting rod without spacer, results in 86cc displacement
- Crankshaft with 45mm stroke / 90mm connecting rod with spacer, results in 88cc displacement
Hints and tips Stage6 88cc cast iron cylinder Streetrace
-
Our tip for running in: the new cylinder should be run in for 300km, i.e. do not go to full throttle. We recommend a 3% two-stroke mixture (1:33) to ensure prolonged engine life.
-
The cylinder looks unobtrusive and similar to the stock part. Stage6 has deliberately decided not to display the brand name on the cylinder, instead of a logo they stamped “49ccm” on it. Don’t panic, it is a 88cc cylinder and may therefore be NOT STREET-LEGAL.
- Note: when using a crankshaft with a 90mm connecting rod, you’ll have to use longer M7x118mm stud bolts.
- Installation of the cylinder kit is very simple and does not require opening up the crankcase.
