The popular Stage6 Torque Control clutch is now also available as a complete kit, including the perfectly matched CNC clutch bell and hard clutch springs. The Torque Control MK 2 is the upgraded version of the highly successful Stage6 Torque Control clutch, featuring a reinforced backplate, larger friction pads and slightly heavier clutch shoes. Clutch, bell and springs are perfectly matched, making this kit ideal for high-performance racing and tuned setups.
Stage6 R/T CNC Clutch Bell
The Stage6 R/T CNC clutch bell – Type 433g – is arguably one of the best clutch bells available. Made from a single piece using CNC technology rather than pressed like most bells, it offers unmatched precision. The cooling flange is turned rather than shrunk, and two holes in the flange allow clutch adjustment without removing the bell. Additionally, two indentations in the cooling ring provide a secure grip for the special tool to lock the clutch bell.
Included are 3 additional hard red clutch springs for the Torque Control. Springs are also sold separately, so different stiffness options can be added. Red = hard, designed for racing and high-end setups.
Adjusting the Stage6 Torque COntrol clutch
The clutch allows spring adjustment and replacement without disassembling the entire unit. Springs are held with screws that can be tightened or loosened through the preformed holes in the Stage6 R/T clutch bell. If using a different bell, it must be removed, but the clutch itself does not need to be taken off the variator. Each spring can be precisely adjusted using the scaling on the adjustment screws for stepless pre-tension.
Stage6 Torque COntrol clutch weights
The MK2 allows adding weights to influence not just the engagement RPM but also the aggressiveness of clutch engagement. Racing scooters often benefit from smooth engagement for optimal cornering acceleration, while fun scooters may require aggressive engagement for wheelies. Heavier weights and wider placement result in more aggressive engagement. The Stage6 Torque Control MK2 delivers outstanding grip and acceleration.
Stage6 clutch springs
The choice of clutch spring depends on the cylinder and setup. We recommend white springs for sport cylinders, orange springs for racing cylinders and optionally available red springs for high-end cylinders. For very heavily tuned engines, there is also a weight set to further increase the weight of the clutch shoes.
